Diablo IV

Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Diablo IVthe next game in the genre-defining series, will be released in 2023. Blizzard also announced that Diablo IV will be released simultaneously for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5along with versions for Windows PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Cross-play and progression will be available across all platforms.

In Sanctuary, a land long plagued by devastating wars between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, decades have passed since the events of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls® elapsed. However, a dark, destructive force continues to plague the world. And now Lilith, the daughter of hatred, has been reborn into the mortal world and is bent on ruling Sanctuary once more.

In addition to the iconic classes Barbarian, Sorceress, Huntress and Druid is closing the legendary Necromancer as the fifth playable class the fight and returns with redesigned undead mechanics. Players can use the Necromancer’s Book of the Dead, a brand new class ability that allows them to dominate the battlefield with more customization for their undead army than ever before. You can fight with aggressive skeleton warriors, fast-attacking skirmishers, sword and shield defenders, or scythe-wielding reapers. With skeletal mages, they can unleash a litany of spells imbued with shadow, cold, and sacrificial magic. You can use bone golem tanks, life stealing blood golems, and charging iron golems. Or they sacrifice them all to absorb their power.

“We can’t wait to open the gates of hell next year. The talented team behind Diablo IV always puts gameplay first in all things and has created the largest and most ambitious vision for Sanctuary to date,” said Mike Ybarra, president of Blizzard Entertainment. “This sprawling world draws inspiration from the franchise’s dark 25-year history and follows the philosophy of player choice. This creates an adventure that players of Diablo never experienced anything like it.”

The Sanctuary Version in Diablo IV is huge and full of opportunities for adventure. Character customization in the game is more extensive than ever. Players can be guided by their curiosity (or carelessness) while playing and experience over 140 dungeons and dozens of side quests in their quest to defeat Lilith’s forces… and ever more powerful equipment. Powerful world bosses provide an additional challenge in Sanctuary. They encourage players to team up with others they meet on their journey to defeat the bosses and collect their treasures. And for the first time, players can also change the world around them by corrupting it bases conquer and thus turn into allied outposts.

There is no set way in Diablo IV. Players can choose which non-linear way to progress. This open-ended experience carries through to the game’s long-term content, where players hone their skills in nightmare dungeons put to the test, wreak havoc in custom PvP zones and paragon panels can build to level up and customize their characters beyond the max level. In addition, they can use the Whispering Tree interact to unlock more world goals and bounties, and collect legendary gear.
